SOUTH Wales Senior League Division Two

Cadoxton Barry FC 3 - 1 Cefn Cribwr

Dawson, Adams,

Morgan

Forced changes due to a number of players being unavailable made no difference as CB continued with their points gathering spree.

A bright start for CB was followed by some extended spells of pressure from the visitors. The home side survived a series of well rehearsed corner kicks and then almost took the lead just before the interval when a Dawson shot was pushed onto to bar by the keeper. And within a minute the keeper produced another fine save from a Scott Williams shot aimed towards the bottom corner. And, bearing in mind the poor state of the Bryn-Y-Don pitch, CB were producing some surprisingly intricate football as the half time whistle blew.

The second half was only 20 seconds old when the continued neat passing offered Williams another opening, his rocket shot bringing a stunning save from the Cefn Cribwr keeper. The opener was only delayed for a few minutes however. Adams fed Williams whose firm cross found the head of Dawson who found the net from close in. And the contest looked to be over when, two minutes later, Adams powered home from 20 yards following a good build up via Oaten and Morgan.

Then, only another three minutes later, the latter hammered the final nail in the Cefn Cribwr coffin with a sparkling solo goal, running from the half way line and beating man after man before finishing with a quality low drive that left the keeper no chance.

The visitors were gifted a consolation when Cribwr broke following a CB corner, casual CB play offering little resistance as Cefn Cribwr worked easily through the field to score.

Though, ultimately, this was a comfortable win, the visitors did have their moments and CB has to be grateful to keeper Harker who pulled off a number of stylish saves.

Cadoxton Barry, now third on goal difference, continues their bid for high status in the new South Wales Football Alliance when they visit Penrhiwfer next Saturday. Kick off, 2pm.
