MMG B scored three goals for the third game in a row, with the difference this week that they kept a clean sheet. MMG got straight on the front foot and were pressurising the Imps from front to back. Man of the match Dave ‘Evo’ Evans was a constant thorn in the side of the Imps defence.

MMG had a few good chances before a throw from Evo was quickly put back to him by the veteran Leon Butler (fresh back from a holiday), for Evo to hit a great cross which player manager Lee Galsworthy finishing with a glorious header into the top corner of the net leaving the keeper no chance.

The game stayed one nil passed half time with the Imps keeper pulling off some great saves and the solid, if not a little tired, back four of Dave Allen, Paul Edwards, Morgan Rodgers and Andrew Mason holding firm. In fact, MMG keeper Ross Liddiard only had one save to make which he picked up at his feet.

The second goal came when Masons forced a corner which the Imps failed to clear, a good touch and shot on the turn was duly dispatched by Drew Burniston. Barrie Coslett then had a chance to increase the lead when he smashed the ball against the bar from 10 yards. Mason was replaced by Johnny Martin who rolled back the years with a steady display.

Then came a master stroke by manager Galsworthy, he could see that Elliot Cayton was tiring in the middle of the park and switched Elliot to the left wing and himself into the middle. This had an immediate impact. Imps keeper took a goal kick which was won by the manger himself, flicked on by Coslett with Cayton belying his tired legs run on to, before beating the full back and finishing into the bottom corner.

With the points wrapped up Butler dropped back to centre half with Edwards moving into midfield. He had a great chance to make it four before Cayton took the balls off his toes and rifled it against the bar. MMG controlled the remainder of the game and the score remained 3-0. Cadoxton Imps played their part in an entertaining game and a big thumbs up to the referee who had a great game, letting the game flow as much as possible.

Next game is away to FC Pumas at the Sports Centre. MMG would like to thank their sponsor BRT International for their continued support.
