FROM October 11-12 the World Organisation of Martial Arts Athletes (WOMAA) International German Championships took place, which was hosted by Sascha Schreiner.

Teenage martial arts exponent, Liam Rees from Cadoxton, travelled to Vilsbibury, Germany to take part as a member of Team Wales.

The two day event was split with the first day consisting of weapons and pattern forms and the second consisting of light continuous and point fighting.

Liam, aged 17, was entered in the advance boys 15-17. He fought comfortably through the rounds against some experienced fighters to take gold.

He also took part in the men’s 70kg and under category where he showed outstanding talent to take gold.

At the end of the day Liam faced a German competitor and took his third gold for Team Wales.

Liam is now training for the WOMAA Series Men’s finals in November. His family would like to wish him the best of luck and thank you also to his sponsor WOMAA Fight Gear.
