ONCE again the Cadoxton School of Taekwondo joined forces with kick boxers from WOMAA Wales to form a Welsh squad consisting of 17 competitors who flew into Munich to compete in the German International Championships hosted by master Sascha Schreiner.

The event was held in Vilsbiburg and ran with the usual German efficiency, although this event was smaller than expected, the level of competition was of a very high standard. The Welsh squad brought home with them 28 gold, 19 silver and three bronze medals.

Unfortunately two members of the Cadoxton contingent (Thea and Lucia Cunningham) had to pull out leaving seven competitors from the Cadoxton School in the squad, competing in the point and continuous sparring, traditional forms, weapon and synchronised forms. The Cadoxton contingent contribution was 12 gold, 12 silver and three bronze to the Welsh Teams total.

Maddison Allen got gold in weapons, gold in traditional patterns, gold in continuous sparring and silver in point sparring. Cody Jacobsen got gold in weapons, silver in traditional patterns, point and continuous sparring. Joel Wells received a gold in traditional patterns, silver in point sparring bronze in continuous sparring and bronze in weapons. Cian Allen had a gold in point and continuous sparring, silver in traditional patterns. Lucy Newman got Gold in weapons and traditional patterns, Silver in point and continuous sparring. Matthew Bennett had gold in weapons, silver in traditional and synchronised patterns, silver in continuous sparring. Bradley Halford got gold in traditional patterns and continuous sparring, silver in synchronised patterns and bronze in point sparring.
