SULLY Indoor Bowls Club entertained Northampton County Bowls Tourists on Saturday to play a seven rink friendly; they were also playing a six rink game in Cardiff.

Their South Wales Tour had already taken them to play two games on Friday against Carmarthen sides and were also due to play two games on Sunday at Merthyr and Islwyn.

The Sully Stadium team was made up of Stadium members representing their outdoor clubs e.g. Romilly, Cadoxton, Sully, Millwood, Penarth Windsor and BP Sully.

The game was played in tremendous spirit as Touring Team friendlies usually are but the Northampton rinks were also strong which made for a very competitive game.

A full game of 21 ends was played with five rinks remaining pretty close throughout the game but two Sully rinks struggled from the start finally losing by 12 and 14 shots with another losing by five shots.

It was left to the other four Sully rinks to save the day, although winning on the four rinks the score differentials were not enough to turn the result in Sully’s favour with final score 123 – 140 to Northampton.

The result appeared immaterial as those taking part enjoyed a good afternoon of bowls with everyone enjoying the camaraderie. Rink Scores Sully First:-
