RHOOSE FC’s good start to the season continued apace with an emphatic 3-0 away win against Treharris Athletic on Saturday, taking their unbeaten run to five matches.

The Vale side’s high tempo, slick passing game seemed to surprise the home side and Rhoose soon took the initiative with some fluid moves down both flanks. Michael Osbourn went close with a fine header following an excellent run from Nathan White down the left.

Rhoose inevitably went ahead on the half hour mark with a speculative, low 22 yard shot from ace marksman Nicky Davison that evaded the Treharris ‘keeper. They doubled their lead soon after when Drew Fahiya finished another slick move down the left hand side, again following good work from man of the match Nathan White.

The second half on balance, saw the home side start to take the initiative, but Rhoose absorbed all Treharris could throw at them and went further ahead with a brilliant finish from Nathan White following a break from defence that saw an excellent defensive interception from Martyn Giles and fine approach work from matchmaker Jacob Daley.

Rhoose travel to Port Talbot on Saturday for a tough Welsh Cup Qualifying Round 2 encounter with South Wales Amateur League high flyers Trefelin.
