BARRY parents hoping to nurture their tots’ tennis talent will have the opportunity to get the youngsters on court from this Friday, September 12.

Barry tennis club, Barry Island, is launching a brand new concept – Mums & Tots tennis club – aimed at children aged between two and five years of age.

The 30 to 45 minute session involves on court fun and games developing agility, balance and coordination skills for parent and child, followed by a drink and a chat in the clubhouse.

The session costs £4.

Also Junior Presentation Evening will take place from 6pm on the same date with sponsors FitM8 presenting the annual shields to the winners of the Junior Club Championships in 8&u, 9&u, 12&u, and 16&u categories, as well as awards for Most Improved Player, Players' Player, Coach's Inspiration, Most Promising Mini Player and Most Promising Junior Player.

There will be a buffet, on court games, and a raffle with prizes including a top prize of 10x1h Personal Training sessions, other prizes with FitM8, tickets to see The Saturdays at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, a Vic Hopkins Butchers meat voucher, and more.

The New Vale Tennis Academy coaching programme has now started and Mini and Junior coaching resumes from 10am this Sunday, September 14.
