IN Saturday afternoon's Welsh League Division Two match at Pri Deri Park, Barry found themselves a man down and two goals adrift, following the dismissal of winger Dale Howarth for a pair of yellow cards.

However, the Town would battle back to stun former Welsh League champions West End after a pivotal second-half spell that saw two penalty kicks awarded; with crucially different outcomes.

Making his full début after receiving international clearance days prior, forward Curtis Hutson converted to pull one back for Barry, before Town goalkeeper Dan Bradley, in his 299th appearance for the club, made what proved to be a vital penalty save at the opposite end.

Barry would then equalise through Rhys James minutes later and hold out for an away excellent point; their seventh of the season to date, following an impressive 2-0 win in midweek at Caldicot Town.

Defender Lewis Cosslett and forward James Dixon netted in either half to secure the spoils for a Barry, whose starting XI remained unchanged from the opening day win against Dinas Powys.

This weekend, Gavin Chesterfield's team make the short trip to the capital, as they tackle Cardiff's Splott Albion in the first qualifying round of the Welsh Cup.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Word Cup clash with Merthyr Town has been re-arranged for Tuesday, September 9, at Jenner Park (7.45pm kick-off). Tickets are on sale at www.barry.ticketsource.co.uk, with all those purchased for the original date remaining valid.
