DESPITE losing overall by a narrow two-shot margin in their CML5 league match against Splott Phoenix on August 2, Cadoxton A bowlers showed determined resistance and several players turned in first-rate performances, picking up a number of high-value shots.

David Tuck's rink recovered from losing a five, and then a three, followed by a four, before springing into action, picking up a five and several twos before running out just four shots adrift.

Gordon Davies skipped his rink to a noteworthy sixteen-shot victory over its Splott Phoenix opponents, scoring a number of fours against a side that never really got off the mark.

Longstanding skips John Jones and Howard Craven couldn't make any real headway against their Splott counterparts, despite Jones's rink starting off with a splendid six. Craven's rink scored steadily but their opponents built on an early seven shots lead, adding a five and a three before romping away to a ten-shot victory.
