Barry RFC 2nds fall to high-flying Llanishen
7:30am Thursday 4th October 2012 in Sport
LLANISHEN 2nd XV 43 BARRY RFC 2nd XV 13
BARRY were looking to capitalise on their recent momentum following wins over Clwb Rygbi and Llandaff.
It was always going to be a tough task to turn over high flying Llanishen on their own patch, and matters were not helped with strike runner Rhys Gooderham not available.
Barry began the first half in lacklustre fashion, and the home side took full advantage, scoring five unanswered tries.
The away side did improve in the second half and rallied to score a consolation try through Josh Flynn – his first for the club.
Adam Lee added eight points with his boot but his effort was ultimately in vain.
The 2nd XV return to the Reservoir Fields this weekend to face Old Penarthians.
Team: Lee; Case, Ryan, D Williams, Evans; J Williams, Corrigan; Corne, Hosking, Heard; Giddings, Rolfe (c); Jones, Thomas, McTavish.
Replacements: Jennings, O Poole, Flynn, Hewitson.
