Four goals and a clean sheet for Cadoxton Barry

CADOXTON BARRY FC 4 LISVANE/LLANISHEN 0
CADOXTON Barry got off to the worst possible start when Chris Barnett was forced off the field with an injury within the first five minutes, and the team underwent a major re-shuffle.
Darren Baker dropped into the unfamiliar role of centre half alongside the bronzed Luke Walsh, returning after his holiday to Portugal.
CB wasted no time in hitting the net however, as Conner McInery floated in a fine cross which the defender sliced into his own net whilst under pressure from early substitute Adam Gulwell. Then CB doubled the lead when the keeper could not hold onto a Ross Weekley shot and Gulwell fired in the rebound.
The back five of Matthew Warner, Kristian Shaw, Ross Matthews, Walsh and Baker were tested frequently as Lisvane/Llanishen looked for a way back into the game but CB held firm, restricting them to half chances.
James Dawson and Chris Hurn were striking up a healthy looking partnership in the middle of the park and were flanked by Conner McInery and Aiden Lewis going forward. He took a nasty looking knock to the ankle during the first half but was able to continue playing through the pain barrier.
The score was 2-0 at the break and the management asked for plenty of the same in the second half.
A fine move involving pretty much everyone in the front six ended with Dawson striking from 18 yards to score CB's third. And at this point spectators wouldn't have been wrong in saying the game was over as a contest.
Lisvane / Llanishen did rally but the CB defence were determined to earn their first clean sheet of the season as Darren Baker produced a moment of magic to deny the visitors with an overhead kick off the goal line.
CB added a late fourth goal as Gulwell and Weekley combined for McInery to apply the finishing touch at the far post.
Four goals and a clean sheet meant a good day at the office for CB. Cadoxton Barry now face Cardiff Draconians at home in the next round on October 13.
