Ship miss chances but still put five past Inter Penarth

SHIP INN 5 INTER PENARTH 1
LAST season Inter Penarth gave Ship a good run in both meetings, so they knew Saturday's match would be a tough test.
Ship started reasonably well trying to knock the ball about and attempting to keep possession. A good early save from Mick kept Inter at bay before Ship got into their stride. Then came a goal for Gwyn fed through by Chris, and Ship were 1 up after a good finish.
Curtis was brought down in the area to earn a penalty and it was 2-0 as Froud coolly stroked the ball home from the spot. A third followed as Gwyn's pace, which caused chaos in the opposition defence all game, again got him into a scoring position, and after a sublime flick with the outside of his boot he fired home.
A mix-up in defence near the end of the half got Inter a foothold in the game as they were given and converted a penalty.
Into the second half and after a couple of early defensive problems, Ship maintained control of the game and added to the goal tally, Gwyn getting his hat trick, and Alex picking up a much deserved goal.
Overall a dominant performance even though Ship didn't play as well as they can. There were two disallowed goals, one from Curtis, one from Alex, and a hatfull of other chances that should have been put away.
