Barry youngsters represent East Wales U14s in Rugby League

TWO Barry youngsters are celebrating after representing East Wales in rugby league.

Scott Griffiths of Barry Comprehensive and Iwan Baker of Ysgol Bro Morgannwg represented East Wales U14 in the Wales Rugby League Origin Match played at the Gnoll, Neath on August 15.

Both boys, who play for Barry Rugby Club, made significant contributions and Iwan scored the try that clinched a 24-14 victory for the East against West Wales.

To cap a memorable week the two boys, along with other Vale players Sam Davies, Caleb Docking, Eddy Drake, Callum Mickleson and man of the match Sion Jones, went on to clinch the Wales U14 title with Panthers Rugby League by defeating Aber Valley Wolves at Caerphilly RFC.

This completed an undefeated season for the Panthers with 11 wins and a draw from their 12 matches.
