A PACKED Cadoxton Conservative Club function hall was the venue for this year's Cadoxton Barry FC Presentation Evening on Saturday, May 19.

The managers of all four teams reflected on successful seasons and high hopes for the next - the Youth and Third teams producing many promising youngsters with bright futures.

So for the youth team, the Manager's and Players' awards went to Elliot Clissold and Dafydd Thomas respectively.

And following a great 'stand up' routine, retiring Third team manager Paul Francis announced that another two teenagers had shared their Players' Player of the Year award.

They were Rhys Hopkins and Mike Coles, while the Manager's award went to 'keeper Graham Sumsion.

In appreciation of his services over many years to Cadoxton Cons and Cadoxton Barry FC, Paul was presented with a mounted replica shirt as was retiring Chairman, Tim Johnson - the latter being in appreciation of services to Barry FC and subsequently the merged Cadoxton Barry FC.

The Seconds, who had lifted the Supporters' Cup, saw the awards go to Chris Hurn and goalie Matthew Warner.

For long-term dedicated service to the old Cadoxton Cons, which has continued well into the new era of Cadoxton Barry FC, the Russell Miles Memorial award went to Steve Hawtin.

Meanwhile the man who makes so much happen, club secretary Tommy Taylor, was the well deserved recipient of the Clubman of the Year award.

And it became a bit of a goalkeeper's appreciation night when Shaun Harker was announced as the winner of the South Wales Senior League side's Manager's award.

Finally, the coveted Senior League side's Players' Player award went to a man who had rushed down from a scaffold to make it just in time - Darren Baker.

Darren was a Mr Reliable throughout the season, with his never-say-die approach, invariably chipping in a goal here and there just when it was needed, while he was never slow to get back to help defend when the situation needed.

Cadoxton Barry FC would like to thank Cadoxton Conservative Club for the hospitality throughout the past season.
