WATERFRONT WANDERERS 2 WENVOE EXILES 0

WANDERERS went into this game looking to put the previous week's cup exit behind them and get back to winning ways against a Wenvoe team that had recorded a few big wins against the top teams in the division.

The Wanderers only managed to put a bare 11 together for this game with suspensions, and injuries taking their toll. So changes had to be made with Connor and Govier filling in at full back and Jones and Brody-Miles once again back at the heart of the on-form defence.

The midfield had a new addition with Hammill making his first start in his preferred central role alongside Nathan Williams, with Parrish and Colburn once again the danger men down the wings.

The Caton brothers were again partnered in the front line after Kyle had missed the previous week through being cup tied.

The Wanderers started very well but couldn’t make the breakthrough; Wenvoe were trying to cause Davies problems in goal but the back four were solid as ever.

Wanderers were forcing saves from the Wenvoe keeper and claimed several penalties before eventually being awarded a spot kick when Parrish was pushed in the back. With regular taker Hales missing Hammill stepped up to place the ball past the flailing keeper.

About 20 minutes into the second half the moment of magic happened with what should be the league's goal of the season. Kyle crossed the ball to TJ and he hit a overhead kick from 20 yards out into the top corner of the net to send all the supporters and fellow players wild and make Wayne Rooney look like an amateur.

The game fizzled out during the last 15 minutes and Wenvoe went down to 10 men in the last minute after two quick yellows cost a player his place on the pitch.

Wanderers finished with a deserved win to keep the pressure on top of the table Llantwit who they face this week.

Thanks to Wenvoe and referee Tim Jones for a good game, also Stuart and the Bassett and the excellent support the team received once again. Green Army.

Waterfront Wanderers man of the match was Jay Hammill.
