RHYS Geisheimer, of Barry East End Boxing Club, recently took part in the annual Welsh Boxing Championships at Bryntirion Sports and Social Club.
Rhys, who has been boxing for three years, won the Welsh Schoolboy title at 38kg weight in 2008, and the 44kg weight in 2009, and has now won through to the 52kg final after a convincing 13-3 points victory against his opponent from the Prince of Wales Boxing Club in Cardiff.
Rhys dominated the semi-final bout from the first bell and his opponent Wayne Price had no answer to the Barry boxer's speed, stamina and ferocious combinations.
This year's final will be fought at Rhondda Fach Leisure Centre where Rhys will face a tough opponent from North Wales.
With the training and support of Alan and Leon Lamb continually moving Rhys forward, the camp is full of confidence that he can win a third title in a row.
Rhys and his family would like to thank everyone at the gym, and a big thank you also goes to Byron, of Grab-It Construction, for the generous sponsorship and support.
