A WELSH regiment has won the prestigious Army Challenge Cup final for the second year running.
The 2nd battalion Royal Welsh beat 23 Pioneer Regiment RLC in a closely fought game at the Army stadium in Aldershot last Thursday. The lads were behind at the end of the first half but came back strongly in the second half, scoring a converted try in the last ten minutes to clinch the match 17-10.
Head coach captain Colin Jones said: "This is a fantastic result which will boost the morale of our local boys out in Iraq and Afghanistan. All credit to our players - they were united throughout and delivered when it mattered.
Teamwork, fitness, tactics - just another day in the Army!
