BARRY Town United welcome Redditch United of the Evo-Stik Southern League to Jenner Park on Saturday, with striker Momodou Touray poised to make his home debut in the 2.30pm kick-off.

Touray, who turned 19 this week, arrives from League 2 Newport County AFC on a season-long loan deal and made his Barry Town bow in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Gambia-born Touray has already represented Wales at U19 level, scoring on his debut, a 4-3 win over Switzerland in Rhyl, before signing professional terms with the Exiles this past April.

Having spent time with Leicester City, the promising youngster also has two FA Cup goals to his name, after a brace against Willand Rovers during a three-month spell at Merthyr Town last term.

These efforts saw Touray represented alongside 136 other goalscorers on the matchball for May’s FA Cup Final at Wembley between Manchester United and eventual winners Chelsea.

Touray’s arrival is expected to lessen the burden on fellow forward Kayne McLaggon, with the ex-Southampton striker’s 12-goal haul an invaluable contribution to the team’s 2017-18 season.

With 2018-19 on the horizon, Barry are in good spirits, having recorded back-to-back friendly wins at Jenner Park over Welsh League Division One side Ton Pentre and a Swansea City XI.

Up against the Bulldogs on a sunny summer Saturday, Barry (in black) romped to a 5-0 success, with doubles from Drew Fahiya and Jordan Cotterill adding to a McLaggon penalty.

Fahiya was then on target again against the Swans in midweek, joining newcomer Marcus Jones on the scoresheet against some of the Championship club's top fringe players.

With Barry's JD Welsh Premier League season beginning in a matter of days, the visit of English opposition should prove a worthy final warm-up this weekend.
