BARRY Beavers started June with the club receiving an cheque of more than £9,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.

It was time for the gala team to be timed the week before the next away gala at Pontypool.

Also recently, Nigel Willis got married to his wife Ang Benham and the club congratulated the both of them and wish the best to them for their future together.

On 15th June the club received an cheque from legacy of amount of £500 for putting towards getting more pool toys for use in club sessions and were invited for an photoshoot to receive the cheque from them at Barry Leisure Centre.

16th June the team went to Pontypool to compete at the Gwent Dolphins Swimming Club's gala.

They competed well on the day and won overall with 14 medals consisting of 7 gold, two silver and five bronze on the day.

Recently Barry Town Council had awarded funding to the club for use in getting much needed IT equipment which will help a lot.

Also the club still had enough funding from the Big Lottery Fund to acquire an i-Pad.

On 28th June the club had been presented an cheque of £200 from Cadoxton Youth Project at the Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie at Barry Library.

It was greatly appreciated as Rita Limbrick and Becky had been collecting and fundraising recently.

Jane Hutt along with Rita Limbrick presented the cheque to Pat and Chris who came to receive the cheque as well as an cuppa while at the occasion.

30th June the swimming club's gala team travelled to Ebbw Vale to compete at the Blaenau Gwent Otters Swimming Gala.

On the day the club finished in 2nd place with 11 medals (7 golds, 3 silvers and a bronze).
