BARRY'S James Savory continues his success from golf to badminton after he set off for the Special Olympics Regional Badminton Championships held in Wrexham last Friday.

Arriving mid evening for a reunion in the hotel bar with fellow competitors from all over Wales and England, after a hour or so an early night was had by all for the competition started at 9am on the Saturday morning with 50+ competitors taking part in the singles competition.

James rose to the challenge after a recent injury to only dropping 2 out of the 16 games played all day.

Sunday morning seen the start of the Men's Doubles where once again James joined up with his doubles partner Stephen Davies from Wrexham.

These two only ever play together at competitions as to them living so far apart, 160 miles distance between them for training, but they picked up where they left off from the last competition not dropping a games, so then a wait until the presentations when James received the gold medal Men's Singles and James & Stephen also received the gold for the Men's Doubles.
