MOLLIE Mai Germon and Taliesin Sherry are both members of the Cardiff National Ice Skating Club at Ice Arena Wales.

They are both aiming to reach the British Ice Dance championships this season, in their respective solo categories.

In order for this to happen and have a good shot at qualifying they have both got to pass national tests to achieve a standard and will need to compete in two inter club competitions, aiming to get scores to put them at the top 24 skaters at their level.

Both children are coached by Tracey Keeble. She has coached Mollie for 18 months and Taliesin for five years.

Mollie Mai competed in Lee Valley earlier in the year and finished third in her first ever dance competition, at level 3, and claimed her level 4 pattern dance.

She needs to qualify in one more competition and if she is successful she will compete in the British Championships later in the year.

Taliesin is competing in Deeside in May and hoping to score enough points to qualify in both pattern dance and free dance so he can compete in the British Championships.

Mollie Mai is 12-years-old and a year 7 pupil at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg who have been very supportive.

Taliesin is 10-years-old and is in year 5 at Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Baruc.

In November, they, along with a group of others, were invited to skate as a group to open Winter Wonderland in Cardiff and Swansea.

At Cardiff they were both interviewed live on S4C by the Heno programme.

Taliesin and Mollie Mai are very talented and dedicated Vale youngsters, skating many times a week.

Both skaters are very talented and dedicated youngsters and they are are looking for sponsorship to give them the best opportunity to get them to the British Championships.

Mollie Mai’s mother would like to thank the generosity of a complete stranger who donated £90 so she can compete in the next competition.
