BARRY Town United Ladies U13s ended Albion Rovers' unbeaten run at Jenner Park on Friday night (February 9), as they continued their surge up the league table with a hard-fought 4-2 win.

Albion Rovers took the lead in the 10th minute with a breakaway goal, but Barry recovered after their poor start to net an equaliser just before half-time through Ruby Hamed Jones after a well worked move.

After struggling for much of the opening period, the second-half signalled a big improvement from the home side as Barry took complete control of the game with their trademark passing, with Jones soon making it 2-1 in the 32nd minute.

Despite being under intense pressure, Rovers broke away once more and scored after a rare error from keeper Riley Stanger, who was otherwise outstanding on the night having just come back from illness.

But the hosts were soon back on track, with some superb passing moves tearing the opposition apart and leading to a third goal through striker Emilie John, before Jones sealed her hat-trick late on after being supplied by Gwenno Good.
