CADOXTON Barry suffered a home defeat to Cefn Cribbwr on Saturday, after two gift wrapped goals sent the visitors away wondering if Christmas had come early.

The first came in the twentieth minute following a fairly even opening spell. A Stringer clearance was scuffed along the ground and fell into the path of an incoming forward, allowing him to stroke the ball home into an unguarded net.

The hosts soon improved and were calling the shots as Morgan, Weekley, Oaten and Morgan once more combined in a passing move that ended when Morgan fired just wide.

And with 37 minutes on the clock, Cleary chased down what had looked like a lost cause before sending over a perfectly measured cross for Morgan, who glided past a challenge to slot home the equaliser.

The sides went into the break honours even, but soon after the restart CB thought they had done enough to take the lead.

A good team passing move early in the second period ended with Weekley firing home from the left, only for the referee to controversially rule that teammate Oaten had been in an offside position.

It wasn't long before Cadoxton Barry gifted a second goal to the visitors, as they missed a host of chances to regain possession in a seven-pass Cefn Cribwr move that contributed to what proved to be the winning goal.

Oaten later saw a shot blocked with CB players crying out for hand ball, but it was not to be for the hosts who now sit seventh after back-to-back defeats.

Next Saturday sees Cadoxton Barry visit Butetown in a 2pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, in the Vale of Glamorgan League Division Two, Ingman struck five and Jenkinson hit a hat-trick as Cadoxton Barry IIs reinforced their lead at the top of the table thanks to a resounding 10-3 win away against BV.
