BARRY Town United's Pan Disability side pulled off a series of strong performances in their first festival event of the season, with the A team ending the tournament unbeaten.

Following the postponement of the season's first festival, the side waited in hope that storm Brian would not have a similar impact on this one, but as it was the sun was out for most of the festival and the quality of football shone through.

Barry entered four teams into the festival at Newport Gol, with the players' hard work in recent weeks paying off.

Both sides taking part in the champions league group finished in first and third, with the A team conceding just five goals and remaining unbeaten throughout, while the B side produced a number of shock results to narrowly miss out on the final.

The other two sides – competing in the premiership group for the first time – played extremely well with the B team edged out of a final place only by goal difference.

This season will see the Pan Disability team play in an 11-a-side tournament between clubs from South East Wales which kicks off in December.

A friendly played against Cambrian and Clydach at the start of October saw Barry win 4-2, with the game providing a good starting point for the players and coaches alike.

The club are currently looking for players aged between nine and 12. For more information, contact Neil Latham on: 07827 334818. Training is on Tuesday nights between 6-7pm for this age group.
