BARRY Town United are back at Jenner Park this Saturday and looking to break into the top half of the JD Welsh Premier League.

Seventh-placed Town host six-placed Cefn Druids, hoping to bag the win that would lift them above their North Walian visitors.

Both teams were involved in scoreless draws at the weekend; Druids held by Newtown at The Rock while Barry and Aberystwyth played out a competitive 0-0 stalemate at Park Avenue, a game in which defender Luke Cooper entered a third Man of the Match performance of the campaign.

Town manager Gavin Chesterfield will likely be without leading goalscorer Kayne McLaggon this weekend, after the former Merthyr marksman limped off in the first half against the Seasiders.

Nevertheless, the Barry boss will be encouraged by the form of stand-in striker Louis Gerrard; the midfielder having already put two past Afan Lido in the midweek Nathaniel MG Cup tie at Jenner Park.

Macauley Southam and Tyrrell Webbe completed the scoring, bookending an entertaining 4-2 victory that sets up a home tie with Cardiff Met on October 24th in the quarter-finals.

The cup match saw both development squad duo Michael George and Luke Davidson each make their full home debuts for the club.

Kick-off between Barry and Druids at Jenner Park this Saturday will be at 2.30pm, with supporters encouraged to come and watch the Liverpool vs Manchester United match at the new clubhouse sports bar before the live JD Welsh Premier League fixture.

Admission for the fixture is £7 (adults), £5 (senior citizens/students) and £3 (children).
