LAST season's Barry Cup runners-up AFC Rhoose were dumped out in the second round by fellow Premier Division side Island Marine, in a thrilling 4-3 win for the Island side.

Once again, as in the previous round, there were no lower league shocks as the results went with the form book.

Cogan Coronation edged out Cardiff Airport 2-1 in an all Division One tie, while FC Barry Belgrade avoided any upset as they routinely dispatched Cadoxton Athletic 3-1.

St Athan advanced to next week's quarter-final draw as they demolished division two Barry Albion 8-2, and elsewhere Cowbridge Town need extra-time to get past lower league opposition for the second round in a row, as they squeaked past division two Cadoxton Barry 3-2.

Llantwit Major survived a late scare, as their keeper was the hero saving a last minute penalty to ensure a 2-1 victory over BRT Dynamos. Division One pace setters Sully Sports look like cup dark horses as they breezed past SP Billy with a comprehensive 6-2 win. Finally, in the all Premier Division clash, league leaders Barry Athletic avenged a league defeat to Penarth Town by eliminating them from the cup in a 4-2 triumph.

The draw for the quarter finals will take place next Saturday.

It's the SWFA Senior Cup next weekend with Cardiff Airport, Vale United, Island Marine, St Athan, Rhoose, Barry Athletic and Cowbridge Town all representing the Vale, while there is also a full fixture programme amongst Divisions One and Two.
