BARRY and District Skittles League have held their ninetieth presentation night on Saturday, July 1, marking the end of the season.

The event, held at the Wyndham Conservative Club, saw a variety of awards presented throughout the night.

The evening began with the presentation of the league's highest award to chairman Des Cameron. The A.G Rosser Shield, recognising exceptional services to skittles, was won by Mr Cameron for the second time in recognition of his 25 years as chairman.

The Merrymen claimed the First Division title by one point from the 49’ers, as well as winning the Champion of Champions Shield and the Allform Cup.

They also finished runners-up in The Holme Tower Shield to The 49’ers.

The skittles 'roll off' this year was for the Macmillan cancer care charity. The Merrymen made a donation of their prize money to the pot.

The league would like to thank the president and staff of the club for their excellent service and buffet.

The next league meeting will be the A.G.M on Wednesday, August 16 at Barry Liberal Club, which will begin at 8pm.
