BARRY's oldest bowling club has unveiled the town’s most recent team shirts.
Principally sponsored by Les Adams of LAPP Builders and Nigel Kitely of KB Facilities Management, the new shirts feature the club’s original trademark maroon colour.
Two individual members of the club, Derek Brook and the late Stephen Conway, also each donated generous sums to the overall cost.
"It’s sad that Steve, who died before the shirts were produced, never got to see the results of his contribution," said club president, Les Cundliffe.
"But his memory will live on every time someone puts on their team shirt."
The club’s playing members proudly displayed their shirts before last Saturday’s Carruthers Shield match against the Murch bowling club from Dinas Powys.
Club secretary David Fanning said that "although the new shirts didn’t protect us from defeat by a determined Murch side, they certainly added colour and style to a somewhat dull and cold afternoon, and we are deeply appreciative of the support of two of the town’s most active businesses."
