TO CELEBRATE six months at their new facilities, Island Marine FC junior team welcomed Cllr Gwyn John to a special training session at Maslin Park.
The new changing rooms were opened in time for the 2016/17 season and have proved invaluable during the winter months.
Richard Belby, Island Marine FC chair, said: “On behalf of the whole club I would like to thank the council and Cllr John in particular, who has always been a great supporter of grassroots football, for delivering on his promise of new changing rooms and his continued support.
"This is a brilliant facility which will be our home for many years to come.”
Cllr Gwyn John, said: “The Vale of Glamorgan Council does a huge amount of work to support grassroots sport.
"As someone who has been involved in amateur football for 40 years I speak from experience when I say facilities make a huge difference.
"It was a delight to see the junior team making good use of the new changing rooms and I look forward to cheering them on in a fixture some time very soon.”
