BARRY Athletic Bowls Club and Aero Bowls UK announced that they will work together in a new strategic partnership to support the development of bowls in South Wales and the establishment of the Aero brand.

Aero Bowls will use the green and facilities at Barry Island to pilot an Aero Bowls Academy in South Wales, providing youngsters with the opportunity to enjoy a fun introduction to bowls from an early age, develop the skills required to become proficient, and have the opportunity for personal coaching from some of the very best players in the UK.

Further details about how to join in with this exciting initiative will be available when the new season is underway, and will be promoted by clubs and on the club website.

To support the development of the Aero Brand in South Wales, Barry Athletic Bowls Club will also make their facilities available as an Aero hub club for any new or existing bowler who wants to experience the Aero products at first hand.

With their unique drawing lines, and attractive colours, the new Aero Bowls have revolutionised the world of bowls and players will have the opportunity to try many of the different models and sizes at the Barry Athletic Club before deciding which option best suits their bowling style best.

Commenting on the new partnership, Richard Bowen, chairman of Barry Athletic Bowls Club said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Aero Bowls on this exciting initiative, and we see it as an endorsement of our club and the first class facilities and green at Barry Island.

"I am confident that this will add to the profile of our club and provide a fantastic opportunity for new and existing bowlers of all generations to experience the enjoyment of bowls and the Aero products.”

Ellen Falkner, chief executive of Aero Bowls UK, was also delighted with the new initiative, commenting: "We could not miss the opportunity to work with Barry Athletic on this new initiative.

"The club really shares our passion in developing bowls from an early age, and the Aero team are really looking forward to working with Barry Athletic to support the development of young players and bowls more widely across South Wales."
