COLCOT Boxing Club have been lucky enough to find a much needed sponsor, United Worldwide Logistics, who have helped sponsor World Flyweight prospect Andrew Selby and now have stepped in to help the long standing amateur boxing club based at Colcot Sports Centre in Barry.

The sponsorship will held supply the gym with much needed equipment including new gloves, punch bags and anything else they need.

Michael Ruckley who is a manager at the United Worldwide Logistics said: "United Worldwide Logistics couldn't be happier to offer support to a fantastic boxing club. The young people who enjoy the total dedication of Wayne (Gurd) really do deserve to have the best facilities they can. The directors of our family run Worldwide Logistics Company all hail from Barry and are always looking to support local clubs and activities that help the youth of the town".

On hand to collect the cheque from United Worldwide Logistics was none other than IBF World Featherweight champion Lee Selby who regularly trains at the gym alongside younger brother Andrew.

Colcot ABC's Wayne Gurd said: "We cannot thank Mr Michael Ruckley and Mr Michael Mitchell from United Worldwide Logistics enough. Without kind generous people like these we would find it very difficult to keep the gym going. The youth of today are our future and they need our investment not only from knowledge and guidance but financial as well".
