LAST weekend Cardiff City Rollers Artistic Roller Skating Club competed in a competition organised by Moonrakers RSC in Andover.

The competition had clubs from all over the country for all ages competing in artistic roller dance.

The club came away with three golds and nine silver and bronze medals in total. A great achievement for a club that has only been competing for around 18 months nationally.

This year they lost count on how many trophies and medals the club have won. With every competition the team is improving.

Contributing to the trophy and medal tally were skaters from Barry including Amber Ivins, Charleigh Griffith, Mollie Griffith, Madisyn Morgan and Paige Rosser.

Coach Tara Ivins hopes for the team to compete internationally in the near future and one of the group's new members won last year's British Tots Championships and travels to train with Cardiff City Rollers every week.

Skaters start aged five and the group also accommodates adult members and is an inclusive group.

This Halloween Cardiff City Rollers are holding a Roller Disco on October 29 in Cardiff Central Youth Club. It's for all ages as the skates start at children's size six, meaning children that have just started walking can join in the fun.

TJ's Roller Skating Ltd, based in Barry, are supplying the skates and Cardiff City Rollers coaches, skaters, parents and committee are going to be there to help get people rolling safely.
