JUST one weekend until the start of the new season, and arrangements are well in hand at Sully Sports RFC, with good numbers training under coaches Chris Cummins and Barry Booker.

With a full fixture list for both 1st and 2nd XVs, it is important to have as large a squad as possible, and so everyone is invited along – new and old players or those interested in taking up the game.

Training sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 6.30pm at the Sully Grounds.

Last Saturday’s friendly ended in an honourable 17 – 17 draw with Brackla, with the last pre-season game due to be held on Saturday, August 27.

The opening league fixture on Saturday, September 3, will see the 1st XV at home to Ferndale, and the 2nds make the short trip to Old Penarthians.

The next re-union, which will be a BBQ at the Sully Club, will be on Friday, September 9, starting at 7.30pm. Although attended mainly by the club’s older members, any player/member will be most welcome, with a special invitation going out to all the current players who by then will have started the new season.
