Gladstone Primary School Year 5 pupils
YEAR 5 and Year 6 pupils from Gladstone Primary School in Barry have been enjoying free tennis coaching for the last eight weeks provided by Paul Arkontopoulos, assistant coach from Dinas Powys Tennis Club.
The pupils have been improving their fitness and balance, eye/hand coordination, learning to play different shots and how to play points just in time for the start of Wimbledon fortnight.
Having tennis courts available so close to the school is really helpful as the children get a real idea of what a court is like but that it is not essential, any flat area can be used.
The children have enjoyed the new experience and will hopefully want to continue to practice their tennis during their fast approaching summer holidays.
