A FULL house of around 150 Barry RFC players and supporters gathered at the clubhouse on June 11, to celebrate what has been a successful season for all sections of the club and to recognise and award the winners in the various categories.
Following a traditional bangers and mash dinner, the audience were entertained by guest of the evening, former Wales, British Lion and Pontypool prop forward, Graham Price, who recalled his time as a player and the tales as a tourist and the characters he came across during his career in an entertaining talk.
A warm round of applause greeted each award which went to the following.

The Bethan Howell Award, presented by Lyn Howell, was won by Sion Vidal
The Chairman's Trophy was awarded to Colin Morris.
The final award of the evening saw the presentation of a Club Cap for completing 300 games for the 1st XV to prop forward James Hollister a wonderful achievement.
It is also at the discretion of the club committee to award life membership to members who it is felt have and continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the club continues to provide rugby in Barry for the benefit of the community.
This year four life members were created, club chairman Gary Haigh, membership secretary Colin Knapman, team manager Stuart Lock and ex-finance officer, John Williams.
Congratulations to all the winners and to yet another successful season in 2016-17.

This week's lottery numbers were 2, 12, 16 and 22 which produced no winners, this week's jackpot will be £2,200.
