FOOTBALL teams will be able to use Jenner Park for their pre-season games this summer for a reduced rate.

Football teams around the Vale of Glamorgan will soon be turning their thoughts to the forthcoming season, and booking pre-season friendly games to get ready for first league fixtures.

With limited availability of pitches to play these pre-season games, the Vale of Glamorgan Council is offering the facilities of Jenner Park, home of Barry Town United FC, to make sure that teams can get all the practice they need.

The council has invested over £500,000 in improvements to Jenner Park, including an all-weather 3G artificial playing surface that everyone is welcome to use.

Subject to availability, pre-season match opportunities will cost as little as £80, instead of the normal price of £120.

Sessions will be limited to two hours, allowing for both a warm up and half-time break. The use of changing rooms and flood lights would incur an additional cost.

All players and officials would be required to wear round moulded studs when on the playing surface at Jenner Park.

For more information, or to book a session, contact Eryl on 01446 709371 or email eunderdown@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.

Friendlies must be approved by the SWFA in advance, by contacting the assistant hon. secretary on 07813 006730, or emailing admin@southwalesfa.co.uk

Training matches or special training sessions do not need permission and can be booked under the same offer.
