BARRY Town United wrap up their 2015-16 season this Saturday (April 23) hoping to give themselves the best possible chance of a third successive Welsh League title.

Gavin Chesterfield’s side welcome Briton Ferry to Jenner Park in a 2.30pm kick-off, aiming to extend their points haul to 60 in the final match of their Division One campaign.

The Town were crowned Division Two champions in 2015 and Division Three winners 12 months earlier, but hopes of a hat-trick of silverware are dependent on the form of second-placed Cardiff Met, who still have four games in hand to make up the two-point gap at the top.

Having secured the Welsh Domestic Licence earlier in the month, Barry would have the option to take promotion back to the Welsh Premier League should the Town finish as Division One winners.

A second-placed finish meanwhile would also be enough to open the door to promotion, should any appeal from Cardiff Met be dismissed at a hearing on Thursday (April 21); the Met having earlier been denied their licence to play in Welsh football’s top flight.

With a variety of potential outcomes off the pitch, Barry boss Chesterfield will be eager to ensure his players are focused on their task at hand, as the final 90 minutes of the season approaches.

The Town have already played Saturday’s opponents Briton Ferry on two occasions this season, with Barry winning a thrilling Welsh Cup First Round tie at the Old Road in October, before contesting a 2-2 draw in Welsh League Division One three weeks later.

Chesterfield will welcome striker James Dixon into the squad this weekend, a welcome returnee after the Town suffered a handful of injuries in Saturday’s trip to Caerau Ely.

Goals from Kareem Leigh and Drew Fahiya helped Barry twice come from behind at Cwrt-yr-Ala, securing what could prove to be an invaluable point.

At the other end, goalkeeper Dan Bradley is set to start against Briton Ferry this Saturday, completing a remarkable tenth season manning the sticks at Jenner Park.

Admission to Barry vs Briton Ferry on Saturday via the Gladstone Road and Barry Road turnstiles is only £5 per supporter, with the regular discounts for senior citizens, student and children available.

The club will then host its 2015-16 Awards Gala on Friday, May 27 at St David's Hotel, with Barry's own IBF World Featherweight Champion Lee Selby the evening's special guest. Tickets for this event in celebration of the season will be available at this Saturday's match.
