ANDREW Selby will compete for the British flyweight title next month when he comes face to face with Leicestershire’s Louis Norman.

The undefeated boxer is on a mission to become Wales’ next world champion.

Barry boxer, Andrew Selby, 28, is determined to follow in the footsteps of his famous older brother Lee, the current IBF world featherweight champion, which he defended on Saturday, April 9.

On May 14 at the Ice Arena Wales the younger Selby challenges for the vacant British flyweight title against Louis Norman, 11 – 1 – 1, in only his fifth professional contest.

Victory for the man from Andrew would give him the Welsh record for the fewest bouts taken to win a British title.

“I’m delighted to be boxing for the British title on May 14 in Cardiff,” said Selby.

“It’s going to be a big night for Welsh boxing and I can’t wait. I’m in against a good opponent in Louis Norman but I believe I have that bit extra. I want to win the British title in style and ultimately I want to be a world champion. This is the start of my championship boxing journey.”
