ALBERT Primary School took part in a football festival at Jenner Park Stadium in Barry on Thursday, November 26. The festival was arranged to mark the official opening of the new 3G pitch at the stadium.

Sixteen primary schools from across the Vale took part in the festival. Albert Primary School won two of their group games and lost one which placed them joint first in their group. The children really enjoyed the experience of playing in the stadium and playing on the new 3G surface.

What made the festival more memorable for the children who attended was the presence of the current Welsh football manager, Chris Coleman. He officially opened the new pitch and spent time meeting the players from each team.

The children of Albert Primary School were thrilled to meet and speak to Chris Coleman and he even signed their boots for them.
