Cardiff Airport 3 Barry Athletic 1

ATHLETIC travelled to Rhoose with high hopes after a recent run of good form and some great new signings.

It was always going to be a hard task against the defending league champions, but the Athletic were very much in the game until the 80th minute when an injury to new signing Connor Caton saw them go down to 10 men having used all their substitutes.

Jake Oaten had scored for Athletic to make the score 1-1 but Airport made the extra man count to take the three points.

Athletic now face a run of four home games during November. The club wish Connor Caton a speedy recovery after suffering a fractured eye socket and thank Mike Walsh for refereeing.

Barry Athletic 7 Penarth Town 0

Athletic entertained a Penarth side that were hopeful of stopping the league leaders in their tracks. Penarth showed early signs of pressure with some decent link up play but the Athletic stayed composed and kept to their game plan.

It was 15 minutes in when captain Kyle Ceesay saw an ambitious effort from out wide swung into the 'keepers far corner to make it 1-0. Just minutes later Ceesay grabbed his second from the penalty spot when Dan Morgan was pulled down in the box.

Second half saw the Athletic make some changes but it was that man Ceesay that grabbed his hat-trick with a cool finish to allow Athletic to feel that the game was under control.

Substitutes Zac Reid and new signing Linford Harris both getting two goals each to complete a comfortable afternoon in glorious sunshine.

Thanks to all that came to support. Thanks to Jack Phillips for a great job refereeing. On Saturday the 2nds take on Barry Albion at the Butts.
