COLCOT Boxing Club continued to dominate the sport with a trip to Caerphilly for Arthurs Amateur Boxing Club's annual show held at Caerphilly Social Club.

Buddy Froud, representing Colcot, was up against Arthurs Dylan John who was the more experienced boxer out of the two boys but that didn't stop the Colcot boxer stepping up to the plate and out-boxing John in a close fight with Froud winning on a split decision.

Colcot's Maredudd Thomas was up against Barry boy Joe Jones who fights out of Arthurs ABC. Thomas took the fight to Jones who was continually running from the Colcot boy's long range but couldn't find an answer to Thomas's ring craft and was constantly backed on the ropes for Thomas to easily pick his opponent off with long punches winning all three rounds comfortably and taking the decision by unanimous judges.

There was an added bonus to the night when coach Wayne Gurd was informed that his club had won Boxing Club of the Year for 2014/15 season and was delighted that all the hard work that he and his coaching staff put in was recognised and appreciated.

Colcot Boxing Club would like to thank everybody involved at the Colcot Road gym for their time and dedication to help bolster their position as the pinnacle of amateur boxing in the Vale of Glamorgan and Wales.
