SULLY Centurions Cricket Club finished off the season with a trip to Lisvane on Sunday, September 27, for a 40 overs friendly fixture.

On what started as a lovely sunny afternoon the hosts opted to bat first - Shoirap (35) Bradbury (35) and Drury, who hit 30, were the top scorers as Lisvane finished on 169 all out. Nicky Jones, who took four for 52, was Centurions’ pick of the bowlers, with good support from Jake Griffett (three for 23) and Tarv Dhanjal (two for 20).

After tea, Centurions took to the field, but lost wickets with regularity, with only Jake Griffett sticking around to do any damage with the bat.

In fact, with the late summer light fading quickly, he nearly pulled it off, as he continued to find the boundary and was just six runs short of a century when he finally ran out of partners, with Sully agonisingly close to the target, finishing on 167 all out.
