THERE was delight amongst gymnasts, coaches and parents when it was announced that 10 of YMCA Barry's gymnasts had been selected into the South Central Area squad.
Following a trial where gymnasts were tested on areas such as strength, flexibility and skills, the good news was received.
They will now join gymnasts from clubs across the region to undertake monthly training with the Area Squad coaches.
Congratulations to Bria Karim (11), Emmy Saddler (6), Erin Gamble (11), Hana Davies (7), Keeyah Denton (6), Lily Foscolo (8), Mercedes Anderson (6), Millie Williams (6), Ruby Price (7) and Sophia Foscolo (10) for their selection.
Well done also to coaches Sophie Erickson, Charlotte Gabb and Karen Davies.
YMCA Barry are starting a new recreational class on a Wednesday for children aged 5 plus. There are also a few spaces in the Gymjynx classes for 3-4 year olds. Spaces book up quickly so for more details or to book a space please contact 01446 724001.
