DURING the summer holidays children and young people from across Vale of Glamorgan recently participated in a unique two day soccer camp with Premier League giants Liverpool FC and PG10.

On day one children were taught new skills and techniques by qualified UEFA PG10 coaches in a fun and safe environment in the Vale of Glamorgan and on day two children and young people visited Liverpool FC for a tour of the world famous Anfield stadium and the museum.

During the tour the children learned about the club's rich history with Liverpool FC legend and Sky Sports pundit Phil Thompson who played for the club 377 times the English national team 42 times and was also the Liverpool assistant manager.

The children were inspired by hearing some of the stories from his playing and coaching career which includes winning the Champions League three times, the league title seven times, the FA Cup once, the Charity Shield six times, the League Cup twice, the UEFA Cup twice and the UEFA Super Cup once.

The children also viewed the Steven Gerrard football collection and enjoyed a Question and Answer session with Thompson.

Wales and Everton FC goalkeeping legend Neville Southall also attended the day.
