THE summer spoils were shared in Saturday's 'Supporters' World Cup' match at Penybont FC, as Barry Town Fans United and Port Talbot Town Ultras contested an entertaining 2-2 draw.

At the tail end of an even first half, Ryan Lowe opened the scoring for Port Talbot from close range; only for Barry's Alex Davies to equalise shortly thereafter with a low strike from the edge of the box.

With honours even at the break, Port Talbot took charge once more in the second period, as Charlie Jones responded well to a rebound off the crossbar to restore his side's advantage.

However, Barry were not to be outdone and would restore parity from the penalty spot, as Nic Latham fired into the bottom corner beyond goalkeeper Anthony Tippett.

The Barrians may have won the match in its closing stages, were it not for Tippett making a fine near-post save to deny his seaside counterparts.

As it was though, the trophy was suitably shared; with special thanks to Barry kitman Matthew Case and all others who helped make the event a successful and enjoyable occasion.
