SOUTH Wales’ rugby teams are invited to start limbering up ready to take part in a Festival of Rugby on Barry Island beach, this summer.
Cardiff Blues are inviting rugby players to slap on the sunscreen and hit Whitmore Bay with the first-ever Cardiff Blues Beach Rugby competition on Saturday, July 4
Beach Rugby is played as touch rugby, but the matches can be a bit more physical and is suitable for all levels of player, both male and female.
The inaugural Cardiff Blues Beach Rugby tournament will be a true Festival of Rugby with a variety of stalls and entertainment and some great prizes on offer.
Places are limited to 18 teams for men and six for ladies.
Booking now is essential.
The tournament comes ahead of the Rugby World Cup in September and October this year, where nations will compete against each other at venues throughout England, but including the Millennium Stadium, in Cardiff.
