Vale of Glamorgan League Division One
Cadoxton Barry 2nds 5 (Rhys Hopkins 2, Fiddler, Christopherato (S), Sheppard) Tynewydd Inn 2
AFTER falling two goals behind, the Cadoxton Barry 2nds rallied to overhaul the divisional cup finalists with five outstanding goals - all of them from a distance. Two from Rhys Hopkins were particularly noteworthy as they screamed home from beyond the box.
Vale of Glamorgan League Division Two
Cadoxton Barry 3rds 6 (Smart 5, Bobbet) BV 4
A five goal achievement from Shaun Smart marked this match. All were good goals with the best coming from a quality team movement. It ended with Amos controlling a high ball to follow with a cleaver dummy, creating the space to get the ball across to Bobbett who took the opportunity well.
CB had the better of the first half, taking a 3 - 0 lead into the break. Though BV were the better side in the second half, the margin of their superiority was not enough to overhaul the strong foundation that had been laid by CB in the first and preserved by some excellent Peacock 'keeping in the second.
This will be a particularly satisfying result for the lads as it overturns the heavy 5 - 0 defeat that they suffered at the hands of United the first time these two sides met.
