THE 29th Annual Barry 40 Mile Track Race took place on Sunday, March 8 at Jenner Park Stadium with 20 runners taking part.

In the end 16 runners completed the race with four retiring during different stages of the day.

Coming in first was Grant Jeans with an impressive time of 4:25:15 followed by TROTS runner Jason Dickinson with 4:34:54. The first female to complete the race was Mudcrew Trail Runner Isobel Wykes with a time of 5:16:58.

Geoff Oliver managed to set three M80 world bests at 30 miles, 50kms and six hours.

During the Barry 40 Mile Track Race there were also runners taking part in the Welsh Ultradistance Championships. This was the 26th edition of the race with 10 runners taking part with eight completing the distance.

Coming in the top spot was Jason Dickinson, with Jason Scanlon from Ponty Roadents in second place and Jeremy Mower from Gloucester AC taking bronze position.
