ROMILLY Bowls Club held their annual pre-season jaunt to Torquay last week where approximately 60 members and friends from other clubs including Cadoxton, Barry Athletic and BP Sully combined to play sides from Worcester, Leicestershire and Kent.
The Indoor bowls arena at the Derwent Hotel was a good venue and there was some excellent competition with the Barry Teams acquitting themselves well.
Organised by Des Bannister once again, the week went like clockwork and the package he arranged suited many of the tourists who danced the nights away to the entertainment provided by the hotel.
With the summer season only five weeks to opening, players are looking forward to outdoors after a long indoor season.
Good luck to all Barry and the Vale clubs for the forthcoming season.
Please note the charity Horse Racing Night arranged for Saturday, March 14, has been cancelled and re-arranged for Saturday, April 4.
