South Wales Senior League Division Two

Margam YC 1 Cadoxton Barry FC 4 Steel, Adams, Weekley, Thompson

CADOXTON Barry kept up the pressure in this title race with this fine win over the physical Port Talbot side, Margam YC.

Steel started the ball rolling for CB with a well taken goal, before Adams rounded off a move which was candidate for goal of the game.

It started with Beatty who fed the ball down the left flank to Steel. He fended off a challenge before sending over the perfect cross for Adams to finish with a quality header from eight yards out.

But then CB conceded a converted penalty to bring the home-side back into the match.

With their heads lifted, Margam pressed for long periods as CB just managed to hang on in.

The physical nature of their play was eventually to prove to be Margam's undoing however as their over exuberant number 9 managed to bag himself two yellow cards within a short period of time.

Now a man down, the hosts were unable to keep their feet on the throttle and the game was turned on its head.

CB was now asking all the questions as further goals from Weekley and super-sub, Thompson wrapped things up for the visitors.

Next Saturday Cadoxton Barry are once more on the road.

This time they make the short journey to Cardiff where they will take on St Joseph’s. Kick off time is 2pm.
